Disneyland - Day 3

On Saturday we were supposed to use our "Magic Morning", which means we were able to go into the park an hour before it opened to the general public (with 20,000 other people that have the same thing!). We were so tired and sleep deprived that we decided to let JJ sleep until he woke, and then head to the park. This was a good choice since it ended up being a day with only a half hour nap! Our "kind of cousins" that we stayed with graciously watched Jacob for the day so we could get around a bit easier and focus on JJ.

Our morning went very well. I went and got us breakfast at the bakery (I couldn't leave Disneyland without one of their cinnamon twist, not a churro, or chocolate croissant). JJ and Marcus went and got Fast Passes for Autopia before meeting me at the new "Nemo Submarine" ride. Right now the wait for this ride is usually over an hour. Since we hit it early enough it was only 40 minutes, but if you have breakfast in line it seems much shorter! We were happily surprised that he liked this ride, as it is a bit dark in some parts.

Next we head for Autopia. Here, JJ is wondering why there are sounds coming out of the posts.
He wasn't sure he would enjoy this ride, but ended up wanting to get back on. I have not been on this since I was younger and really like it!
At last, Casey Jr. Train! He was more than willing to wait in this line. Dumbo was his favorite movie for quite awhile. That, mixed with his love for trains made this ride a favorite!

We met our friends, the Polks, for lunch at the Disneyland Hotel. This was a great spot. We ate at a little counter service restaurant that was next to a lawn and remote control boats. The kids (and dads) were able to play, while Vallie and I were able to sit and chat. It was nice and quiet, away from all the commotion!

Here we are in Toontown. This shot is the closest we got to a character. JJ wasn't scared of them, but he didn't seem to care either. This was fine with both of us, as we would rather not spend time waiting to see them.
And another train! The Toontown Trolley. He could have spent an hour here.

We met another set of friends for dinner in Downtown Disney. JJ had just woken up from his 1/2 hour nap, so he was pretty mellow, which was great! A balloon artist comes by each table and creates a hat for kids. JJ wanted a shark (which it is hard to see in this picture).

Our only hit of bad weather was a downpour while we were in a show. It rained for about 5 minutes after we were out and then cleared. This was great as it sent a lot of people home since it was about 9 pm. We headed back to Fantasyland since we had only gone on Casey Jr. until then. Most of the rides were down to about a 3 minute wait. The only ride that we wanted JJ to ride but didn't get to was Peter Pan.

He would have loved to go faster on the Teacups, but I would have gotten sick! Good thing he didn't know any better!
His prized possession, a toy monorail. He loved going on this ride and we got to sit with the driver on one trip. Unfortunately, it is not a toy for 3 year old boys and is already not in the best shape from its many drops.
