Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Random Summer Pictures

Just some pictures of life around here lately.

Jacob enjoys climbing up on his chair and "reading". Jackson loved doing this at his age too.

Our parks and recs puts on a weekly "Concert in the Park" night during the summer. The park is a short walk from our house, so it makes for a nice picnic. Jacob really gets into the music and likes to "bop" around. Below is the tail end of Jacob's funny face. He rolls his eyes back and purses his lips together when he is trying not to listen to me. Then he will start doing it for fun. What a stinker!
Jackson took two weeks of swim lessons this year. He cried basically the entire time the first day and then did great after that. He loves swimming but did not like being shoved in a pool with no one that he knew. We took some extra time that first day to talk to the teacher and the lifeguard. That seemed to help a lot with the rest of his sessions!

Last week the boys and I basically lived in our car for breakfast and lunch. I was helping with VBS and the location was about 25 minutes away. We would have breakfast on the way there and lunch on the way back. Jacob would always fall asleep, even if eating. This would totally mess up his nap. So one day I tried suckers, thinking for sure he would stay awake for that...nope!

Our city also puts on movies in the parks during the summer. Yesterday, my friend Tyffany and her kids came with Jackson and I. The kids had a ball wrestling before the show!

All bundled up and ready to watch!

Camping at Rimrock Lake

After 8 years of marriage I finally convinced Marcus that he needed to go camping with me! We headed up to Rimrock Lake with Kara and Corey. This is where Kara and I went for the day a few weeks ago and had scouted out and reserved a campsite. The picture above of the boys is right off of our site and we were able to anchor their boat right there. When we had seen this spot before, the water was much higher and only about 3 yards from our fire pit. It was on a bit of a cove, making our own little swimming area. We were bummed at first with the water lower but it actually turned out great. It had created a very shallow tide pool and JJ had a blast catching tadpoles and playing in the mud!
A little cloudy, but still gorgeous!

Kara and JJ trying the tube sitting up. Brave woman!

Not sure what JJ and Corey at doing here, but it is a cute picture.

Jackson loved tubing. He had a permanent grin on his face the whole time.

Jacob was not about to be left out! He wanted in his "boat" and was very happy, even while floating away from us.

Jackson wasn't thrilled with the temperature of the water, but still did a few jumps off the boat.

Jackson "fishing" for tadples.

Yum, dinner!

You'll have to see the progression of the next few pictures. Jacob was content playing in the mud, until he started getting stuck in it. It took him awhile to recover! I also love the shirtless overall style he is sportin'.

We headed back out on the boat after dinner to try to do some fishing, well Corey was fishing. It was already past Jacob's bedtime. I was hoping he would fall asleep, but there was too much to see. He was one dirty tired boy!

There's nothing like spending the morning playing in pajamas and dirt!

We headed out on the lake one more time to see the other end, do some fishing, and let Marcus have a go at tubing (he wasn't there yet for the first time). Later in the day we let the kids just play in the water and did some kayaking. Thanks Kara and Corey for sharing all your stuff! We had a great time!

Here's another "tag" coming through the blog world! Grab you camera, no cleaning up! Just take what it asks of you. Those who know me know that I love pictures. Plus, I think you get a little inside to a person's life through these...if they are honest!

***Disclaimer!!! I took these pictures in the morning (although late morning) as we are having a lazy one after 4 days of early swim lessons!

1. Dream Vacation

I, of course, would always be up for Disneyland and that happens to be what I have a picture of. Although, some place tropical with no kids would be good too!

2. Self -Portrait
Jacob is currently attached to me, so you get him too!

3.What are your children doing?
They were actually playing together! Then I got the camera out and of course, the shot was ruined!

4. My closet...
When you live in an 80 year old house, you get to have your closet in the kids room! (Notice the stickers on the door!)

5. Favorite room...
We don't spend tons of time in our livingroom, which is probably why it is my favorite because it stays clean!

6. Favorite shoes...
I think they need washing!

7. Laundry "room"-enough said

8. Bathroom

9. Sink

10. Fridge

Alright, I am tagging Tyffany, Heather, Michelle D., and Tricia with the pics. Linda and Molly, you get your choice!
