Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Framing is Almost Done!

Our house is coming along!  The framing is about complete and we should see roofing material on soon.  It is very exciting to see it take shape, but I have also heard it feels like forever from this point on.  We are supposed to be moving in mid-August.  Let hope so!

Gap-to-Gap

Jackson got the opportunity to be on a Gap-to-Gap team this year.  This is an annual race that raises money for local charities.  He did the obstacle course leg and had a blast.  His teammates had to run, bike, rollerblade, or kayak.  His leg consisted of army crawling under ropes about a foot high up a hill, rope climbing, moving tires, burpies, log and hay bale jumping, balance beams, agility ladders, upper body pulls, and running.  At one point he came up to another runner and started talking to him and then turned backwards while running to still chat some more before he passed him.  We found out he was trying to encourage him to keep strong!  .

He was coming down the last stretch here before the finish line.  Being his first race, he was very excited to see many people cheering him on.  He started waving and then slapping our hands!  We had to "encourage" him to get moving as some other runners rounded the bend...but he didn't get passed!
Way to go, buddy!

Boulder Cave Hike

Our church has done a hike at Boulder Cave on Memorial for quite some time.  Because of the massive amount of rain we had the week prior, they cancelled.  I have this weird need to be in nature every Memorial and Labor Day, so the Erwins and Brannums decided to brave the conditions with us and continue with our plans.  We weren't sure if the trail would even be open, as it was pouring on the drive up the pass, but once to our location it wasn't too bad.

Snack time for the little hikers while the crazy ones climbed up to some waterfalls.

Very proud of Ryn for actually going through the cave this year!

Ahhhh!
Our picnic ended up being at the Erwin's as the rain did come, but it was an absolutely lovely day!
Thanks, Ya'all!

Mighty Yellowjackets!

Jacob loves playing soccer and is actually fairly good at it!  (Doesn't get that from mom!)
He had a great Upwards season and is constantly asking when he can play again.  Love it!
I love this pic...they look like a tough group!

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend started with a tea in Jacob's class.  He was so excited for this event all week and call it "my break"!
When we first came in, the kinders got lotion and gave us a hand massage.  They did a small performance and served us a snack.  It was so special to spend one-on-one time with my little dude!

After church on Sunday, we took a walk to the "wooden park".  To get to this park you have to walk about a mile, which makes it a special occasion park for us!  The kids had a great time, and so did we.

Next we grab some Burger King for dinner and took it up to my favorite little get-a-way, Naches Heights Vineyards.  Because of the clouds and it being Mother's Day, there were hardly any people there.  Perfect for kids to play on their open lawn.

Marcus had got me what I wanted...an entire weekend without dishes.  I never had to ask once, even though we did eat out all three dinner!  I had a great weekend.

Many Faces of Ryn

Ryn and I have had extra time together this last month, as boys have been taking the bus home from school.  We had a very hot spell, and Ryn spent hours in her little pool...and posing for me!

Love her!

San Diego

I love the perks of being a stay-at-home mom with a husband that has to go to conferences once every year of so!  This year his conference was in San Diego.  We stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel, which was a little to "20-something" for us, but still a nice location.  I enjoyed the quiet days and exploring the town with Marcus at night.
My friend, Vallie, drove down from Long Beach to spend a few hours with me.  We walked around the Hotel Del Coronado and had lunch.  It was a wonderful afternoon!
The only tourist activity we had time for was touring the Midway.  It is truly amazing how large this aircraft carrier is on the inside.  We wish Jackson was there to see it with us.

Kathryn's 1st Tea Party

Kathryn got to attend her first real tea party.  My friend has hosted a Jane Austen Tea for 2 years now.  It is a fun afternoon of dressing in period clothing and eating finger food.
