Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Sweet Baby Girl

Oh, where to start! We are completely in love with Kathryn already! She is a very mellow little girl, is eating well, and even sleeping well enough that I have to wake her to eat (I am sure that will change soon). These first two pics are during her photo shoot that my sister is doing for her photography class. There will be more to come of these, but I'll go back to fill some of you in on our little one's beginning.

I can't believe it has almost been a week since Kathryn's arrival. Last week I kept myself fairly busy to speed time. The day before her c-section the boys and I went swimming with some friends and then went to the concert in the park for dinner. It was great to have a full day. On Friday, everything went as planned. I (and many friends) had been praying for a healthy baby, an anesthesiologist that could actually perform a spinal on me, and no roommate. All were answered. The spinal went in on the first try, something that has never happened to me. It was very strange to be awake during the surgery, I felt like I had a huge bowl of jello for a stomach and they were sloshing around in it. In the recovery room, Kathryn took to nursing very well and was ready to go meet her family. Some of Marc's family made the trip over for the day (Those of you who know the Fry's need to ask them of their contribution of humor to the day!) and the boys and my parents were waiting anxiously. She had a very full room of family (17) and I enjoyed being coherent to experience it this time!

Daddy changing his first girl diaper. We both agree boys are much easier!

Family shots are so hard to get.

Jacob loves giving her kisses and pointing to all her body parts. I hope he stays this sweet and attentive to her.

The boys enjoyed my bed. They only hit the nurse button once.

These are two of my friends, Kara and Jodi, that both taught at Riverside. We were all together (pregnant) the night that Kara went into labor and now we all have our little girls.

Ready to go home! Sorry, I couldn't get this pic to rotate.

Jacob, checking her out again!

I love it when they curl up into a ball. I am already sad that this will happen for only a bit more time!

Fourth of July

We headed to Pullman for the 4th of July weekend. It was packed with fun, sugar, and sleeplessness! A bunch of Marc's friends were there as well, so he enjoyed going out and playing on the new golf course. Friday afternoon we took the kids to see Ice Age 3, which was very cute. Once again they both did great watching the whole movie.
Bringing the ice to help Grandpa make ice cream.
On Saturday, we headed to the Snake River to go on Uncle Dave's boat. Jackson had no fear of the water and was even leaning over the side of the innertube. Jacob, on the other hand, was timid in the boat and HATED innertubing!

Being 9 months prego, I decided it was best not to go into labor in Pullman and stay on the shore. My little nephew here was also another unlucky one who did not get to go boating!

We went home for naps and then went to one of Marc's friend's house to celebrate with all his high school buddies. They had a swimming pool which helped me cool down from the river and great food!
The whole crew with kids and wives

Just the boys

As we were leaving, I notice JJ have a deep conversation with my friend's 2 yr old. She, like JJ, has no problem showing affection! Too cute!

Back at Grandma's, the big boys started doing some fireworks. We tried to get a pic of the little cousins, but there was much distraction!

Grandma discovered that watercolor pencils make great facepaints. Jackson didn't want a flag, only a Star Wars X-fighter.
