Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;
And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23-24

Creation in the Bath

On Sunday, both Ryn and Jacob were too sick to go to church.  I was determined to use the time wisely and do some sort of Bible lesson.  I decided to focus on the creation story and we started watching a few creation songs on YouTube.  As the kids were leaking greatly from their noses, and I didn't find a video that I really loved, I decided to throw them in the bath and create each day.  They really enjoyed the hour long bath, getting a few more pieces of God's creation a little at a time.  I am documenting each day here to use for review...and for when I do it again!

Day 1- Light and Dark
We turned off the lights and I had the kids say, "Let there be light!"... And turned them on.
(I wrote the number on the tile with a washable marker)

Day 2- Water and Sky
We added blue to the bath and stuck cotton balls on the walls.

 Day 3-Land, Plants, Trees
We used a tub lid for our land and toys (including fruit) for vegetation

Day 4- Sun and Moon...and stars on the wall

Day 5- Animals of the air and the sea

Day 6- Land animals...
...and Adam and Eve (they are pointing at each other)

 Day 7- He rested.

I Love Seeing the Love!

These two are stinkin' cute!  This is how I found them the other morning watching cartoons.  I hope they always stay this close!

Wall Climber

Did I mention that Ryn is loving gymnastics?  She decided to work on her strength at home!

Valentine's Day

I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day, but the more my kids are aware that it is a holiday, the more I get convicted to step out of the norm!  My stepping out this year took place at 6 am in the morning.  We had the class valentine cards prepared and I knew I was going to send him a "different" lunch, but had decided that they should start the day with some love.

We had a "fancy" dinner with a red table cloth, fun glasses and straws, and sparkling cider.  I am glad I did these little things at it made my kids smile all day.

One Happy Valentine's Boy

This was Jacob's first experience with getting Valentine's from classmates and, oh my, was he excited!  As we went to school today, he didn't really understand what was going to happen, and in the car on the way home he was over-joyed!
After the games they played, they only had time to fill their boxes.  He started pulling them out one-by-one in the car.  I wish you could hear his squeal of delight as he pulled out a card with an Airhead stuck to it.  Then his wonderful big brother side melted my heart.  He started giving all the cards and candy that had pink, red, or "girly" stuff to Ryn.  He did this with such a giving spirit I had to slather him with kisses!
I love you, Jacob!

Cleaning with "Cinderelly"

Kathryn loves to clean and pick-up...when she wants to!  The other morning she was helping me clean the floors while we were listening to a Cinderella song on repeat and wearing her Cinderella dress.  Can you tell who her favorite princess is right now?
The best part was when she left helping me and I looked up to see what she was doing.  I saw her standing on the back of the couch, licking the windows, and then wiping with a paper towel.  It is times like this that I love being a stay-at-home mom and seeing my kids' imagination at work!  I love you, Cinderelly!

My Little Gymnast...Someday

This is when I get excited about having a girl.  Ryn went to her first gymnastics class today.  She was very social, not sure about doing the warm-up dance, totally into the rotations on the bars and tramp, and DID NOT want to leave!  She did pretty well obeying me (parents go out with them if they are under 3...thank goodness!), but that might be the motivation we use to sign-up for more.  I also love her hair in pigtails!
