Leavenworth and Birthday Gifts

We took the scenic route home and stopped in Leavenworth, a first for the boys. We did not stay long, but they thought it was fun...especially the hat store!

We unloaded Ryn's new gifts in the living room and she went right to playin'! Her "new" kitchen was a gift from cousin, Emma, who was just at the right age to pass it along (and her mom was just past the point of wanting it in her house!). She was given pots, pans, food, etc. from Grandma/pa Fry earlier and was pleased to have a spot to use them. I got the highchair from Grandma and Papa put together so she could have the whole set up.

Ryn has a friend coming over to play with her tomorrow. It will be interesting to see how long being a little mommy will keep their attention.

Kathryn's 2nd Birthday

We celebrated Ryn's birthday at my sister's, along with Tim, Marc, and Nana's. Although, a 2 year old tends to steal the show! Ryn was thrilled to see Daddy after a week and they spent quite a bit of time playing together.

My friend, Kelli, and her family joined us. It turned out to be quite the day. Or, as Joey would say, "Mom, I told you, this is WAY more than dinner." (Kelli tried to convey to him on the way over it was more of a bbq than a regular "kid birthday", since Ryn is only 2.) My niece had planned a carnival of games, but the weather messed with her plans. The kids ended up having a raffle (which somehow was called a "garage sale", maybe since it was in the garage), water balloon fights, egg tosses, huckleberry hunting, and s'mores on the fire.

The girls did a quick fashion show in Jen's prom dresses from the 80's!

Joey was helping the men take apart a pallet for firewood.

Ryn was banned from s'mores after about 5 marshmallows, but still managed to find some.

We think Joey had a good time. Another quote of the night, "Mom. I am livin' the life!"

To keep the fun (or chaos) going, Dominic caught a frog on the way in from the fire. All the kids were thrilled!

Ryn was officially made a little girl this birthday with all toys to play house.

She was so excited to say "Happy Do-do" all day, but I don't know if she really understood that it was her birthday.

Seattle and Orcas Island Wedding

The past week was full! The kids and I left for my mom's last Sunday so they could attend her church's VBS while I worked on my clock hours to keep my teaching credentials. It was a full week with five kids at my mom's (my sis's 2 girls with mine), visiting friends, studying, and getting up every morning at 7 am to get the crew out the door on time.

My sister from Florida came in on Thursday night with some friends. Grandma was well pleased with the amount of "Ryn Watchers" that could help, since I was headed to Orcas to meet up with Marcus for his friend's wedding.

What a sweet ride!

Orcas-Such a great weekend to spend with P-town friends and no kids! (We love them, but a break is always good!) Many of Marc's friends made it to the wedding and we had a relaxing, lazy time. The wedding was beautiful and the food was FANTASTIC!

We all took the opportunity to TRY and get a good pic at the wedding site. Marcus (above) had a hard time not talking or goofing around, so this is the best we got!

Happy Fourth of July!

We stayed at home again this year for the 4th. It was a pretty normal day until after naps when we met up with some friends from church for a bbq and swim. The boys are loving swimming and can go for 2-3 hours before getting bored!

At night, we went to a park with our friends to watch the fair ground fireworks. The kids had a ball rolling down the hill and wrestling before (and during) the show.

All three were in awe when it first started.

Ryn had the most attention span for the fireworks, but half way through she switched families! She walked over to an older couple who were sitting behind us. She kept touching the grandma's knee, pointing and saying,"See, See!". Then she came back to us, got her binkie, blanket, and nigh-nigh, and crawled up the lady's lap! The lady ended up being a woman that lap swims in the lane next to me in the mornings. She said Ryn made her night!

It's Been Awhile, We're Still Here

I am glad to see that many of you are as behind in posting as I am. I can't believe it has been 2 months! Time has been flying, although nothing huge has been happening. Just daily life with 3 great kids!

I guess summer started for us with JJ's last day of school. It was fun day, meaning face painting, slip-n-slides, games, etc. He was exhausted after 3 hours, but I enjoyed hanging out with him.

Our summer has been much cooler than normal. We finally had a warm enough morning in mid-June to have breakfast outside.

We have been lucky enough to have 2 visits from my friend, Kara, and her 2 little ones. Doesn't Jacob and Ben look like brothers?

Jackson and I went on a hike to Boulder Cave with friends from church. It was a easy walk, beautiful scenery, and great company! The cave itself was pretty short, but VERY dark, even with flashlights!

The warm weather has finally arrived and Ryn and Jacob love the kiddie pool. Jackson has apparently decided he is a bit too big for it. He prefers "real" pools!
