We took a couple days to spend with my family at Ocean Shores over the 4th. There were 16 of us staying at my brother-in-law's Mom's cabin. It was tight, but we only had one kid sleeping on the floor! Well, 2 pack-n-plays always help!
I had never driven Highway 12 from Yakima. I LOVE this highway through the mountains. On our way back we passed a sign that said Mt. Rainier National Park. I was a bit confused as I could not see the mountain. After we kept driving about 20 more minutes we passed this lookout point and ,oh, what a sight!
I believe this in JJ's first time on a horse. He tolerated it for about 3 minutes and then he wanted to go play in the ocean.
So, he ditched the horse, stripped to his skivvies, and did what he wanted! He had no fear of the freezing water. Our last day there he went full body swimming, even though it was about 65 and windy. Unfortunately, Marcus had to swim a bit too, in order to keep him from getting washed out to sea!
A local park was sponsoring kids activities on the 3rd. Jacob couldn't do any of the bounce houses, but did enjoy the popcorn and cotton candy. He decided to save a kernel for later.
Jackson was very excited to see the fireworks. For those of you who have not been to Ocean Shores, the beach is packed on the 4th. Cars are allowed to drive on the beach, so it looks like a war zone of smoke among a line of cars. It was a little crazy, but JJ did great.
Like water, fire does not seem to scare this kid. He even stuck his hand out to feel the sparks without a flinch.
Pure joy for this kid!
Pizza night! One 26" and one 16" pizza fed our crowd with a few leftovers!
We did not pose for this picture! We did have a good laugh about how many books were lying around and what a studious family we are!
JJ was supposed to be getting a lesson in Mexican Train, but I think Grandma ended up building tracks with him instead.
One of Jackson's cousins let him use his DS. Now we have a 3 year old asking for one!
